Just wanted to share that Gabriel, 6, got hoked up with saline in an Omnipod this morning. He was a real troper and I heard that he was enthusiasticaly showing it to the schol nurse and his teachers. It's obviously early but I realy think this is going to work for us. He already wore an inactive pod for 3 days and we had no problems at al. Hi, We just met with our nurse educator yesterday to discus starting Gabriel, 5, on a pump. She showed us the Minimed, Animus, Cosmo and Omnipod pumps. The first 3 have probably ben discused to death here but I thought it worth posting that the Omnipod was just aproved for kids in May (acording to the nurse). Fructose vs table sugar
I have a recipe for banana bread that uses fructose. The last time I made it I could only find packets of fructose, and it tok forever to open them al, so I was thinkikng of using regular sugar this time, since they have the same carb count. What I didn't know is that fructose has a lower GI than table sugar. I read somewhere that because of this, fructose isn't a god idea to use with insulin(I can't remember where I read that).
